One origin. Two expressions.

The Yame Duo brings together two single-cultivar matchas — both grown in Yame, a region known for smooth, umami-rich tea. Same origin. Different expressions.

Each is made from just one tea plant variety, offering a clearer sense of flavour, aroma, and texture. A deeper way to explore matcha.

Single Cultivar Okumidori

Okumidori is prized for its mellow depth and creamy body. The name means “deep green” — a nod to its rich colour and grounded flavour. Expect softness, balance, and a smooth nuttiness with floral finish. It’s our everyday hero — easy to drink, and even easier to love.

100% pure Japanese ceremonial-grade matcha, nothing added

Our matcha is nitrogen-flushed to protect it from oxidation and sealed in an airtight pull-ring tin, preserving its vibrant green colour, aroma and flavour. This method guarantees your matcha stays as fresh as the day it was harvested, so it's ready for you to enjoy at its peak.

Note:
- Contains no nut allergens — just naturally nutty flavour notes!
- All matcha is measured by weight, so each container holds 30g of matcha.

About The Farm

Grown with Care in Yame, Japan

Our matcha comes from a longstanding tea producer in Yame — a region celebrated for its fertile soil, misty climate, and unique flavour profile. With over 80 years of tradition, they combine deep expertise with modern testing to ensure each batch is fresh, flavourful, and consistent.

Their teas have earned top awards in Japan, and are evaluated by expert tea specialists for everything from taste and colour to amino acid levels to ensure the matcha you drink meets the highest standards.

Our matcha is tested for pesticide residues and radiation, following Japanese strict regulations to ensure the highest quality — for your peace of mind and confidence in every cup.

Health Benefits

Matcha is a powerhouse of antioxidants, including flavonoids, polyphenols, and vitamin C, that help protect your cells and reduce oxidative stress. With its high concentration of L-theanine, matcha promotes calm focus and clarity, while the natural caffeine content—about 35mg per gram—provides a smooth, sustained energy boost without the crash.

This unique combination of calming amino acids and caffeine improves cognitive function, enhances focus, and boosts metabolism.

Packed with health benefits, matcha supports both mental and physical well-being, making it an excellent addition to your daily routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is matcha?

Matcha tea is made from shade-grown green tea leaves that are finely milled into a powder. Unlike regular green tea, you consume the whole leaf—so it’s more concentrated, with a richer taste and deeper effect.

What is ceremonial-grade matcha?

Ceremonial grade matcha refers to the highest quality matcha tea—traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies. It’s made from the youngest, most tender leaves, finely milled for a smooth texture and naturally sweet flavour. For us, it means we only source premium quality matcha—carefully selected for its taste, distinctive green colour, and refined texture.

How much caffeine is in matcha?

Matcha has about 19–44 mg of caffeine per gram — similar to coffee.

Thanks to L-theanine, the energy is smoother and lasts longer. Think calm focus, not a jittery spike. That’s the matcha wave.

Where do our matcha come from?

Right now, all our matcha tea powder comes from Yame—a region in southern Japan known for its deep-rooted tea traditions and exceptional quality with distinctive flavour profile. But we’re just getting started. We're expanding our range, exploring other regions across Japan to bring you more rare cultivars, refined blends, and fresh matcha experiences. The wave keeps moving.

How to store matcha powder?

Store your matcha tea powder in an airtight container away from light, heat, odour and moisture. Use within 6 months of opening for the best flavour and colour. Always reseal tightly to protect its freshness.

Blend vs single cultivar matcha — what’s the difference?

Single cultivar matcha is made using just one tea plant variety. It captures the distinct flavour of that specific cultivar—whether it’s creamy, nutty, or floral.

Ceremonial blend matcha combine multiple cultivars to create a smooth, balanced flavour profile. Crafted by tea masters, they’re consistent, versatile, and perfect for everyday sipping or lattes.
